Two “humanitarian” stories

novembre 4, 2007 · Un commentaire

I publish in this post two reports that I have done early 2007 for the Paris-based France24 channel, and that I prefer to share rather than letting them asleep deep in my folders. Both are about Iraqi refugees in Jordan.

First, a story full of emotion, about Iraqis who are invited (by the French NGO Médecins sans frontières, which doesn’t dare anymore to go onto the field, and despite very reluctant Jordanian authorities) to Amman to undergo surgery.

I followed a couple of them. Just some dozens of Iraqis benefited from this programm. As the Holy book says, it is just a drop in the ocean, but it helps…

Hum… I should read it again. I’m not exactly sure about the accuracy of my quote ;-)

The following story was produced by Angélique Ferat, but I shot it. It’s about a priest in Amman, who does the best he can to give Iraqi refugees a helpful hand.

I loved working with Angélique, who is based in Jordan, working mainly as resident correspondent for the French public radio (my previous position). She has a great sense of news, and high quality standards for her job.
