Some words from Mogadishu

Somalia is bleeding. Since May 7th, insurgents have launched a new offensive to topple the Transitionnal Federal Governement (TFG), backed by the AU forces, the Amisom. Governement forces have retaliate and are fiercly fighting back.
The consequence of this rise of violence are, as usual, a high price paid by the civilans. At least 400 persons have been killed since the beginning of the offensive, and around 100.000 have fled their houses and are accounted as «new IDP’s» by international organizations.
What would be the solution to save Somalia ?
The main problem is that this country is the stage for a double proxy war. A war between Ethiopia and Erythrea. And a war between Al Qaeda and the West.
Considering that no local player has an interest in peace, especially as they all play a foreign agenda, whatever it is, there could not be peace without a release of the foreign pressure.
Considering that the alliance of Al Qaeda and Erythrea is nothing but natural and has no chance to last, the perspective of their victory should not be fantasied, what allows Ethiopia and the West to stop fueling the war by funding and pushing their proxies.
For the French readers, I’ll post in few days a longer report to be published this week in Le Point newsmagazine.
